DP To Promote Kochadaiyaan Without Rajnikanth

According to a source close to the mega-star, `Rajni Sir doesn't wish to be seen too often in the public. He plays a medieval super-hero in Kochadaiyaan and wants the image of invincible superstar to remain foremost in the public eye.`

That leaves the entire promotion and marketing of this ambitious film to Rajnikanth's co-star Deepika Padukone who is currently going through the busiest phase of her career and can ill-afford to fly off to various parts of the world to represent a star as big as Rajikanth.

`But this is very important.And Deepika knows it,` says a source close to the epic project. `Rajni Sir won't be promoting Kochadaiyaan beyond the intial formalities. Deepika has the greatest regard for Rajni Sir and has readily agreed to travel with the film for promotion.`

The busy actress will take a large chunk of time off to do the needful.

Says the film's co-producer Dr Murli Manohar, `Throughout the making of this film, Deepika has been immensely co-operative. Rajni Sir would probably be present at the media meet to introduce our film to journalists. Since Kochadaiyaan involves 3D Motion Capture , a new technique of storytelling, we will probably be showing some footage of our film to media persons in Rajniji's presence, like James Cameron had shown Avtar before release.But after that Deepika will be there to take the film forward to its release.`

Apparently the exceptionally busy actress is trying to figure out how best to slice out time for promoting a film on behalf of herself and her formidable co-star.

Price of superstardom? Her own and her co-star's.

Priyanka Chopra was spotted on the sets of 'Comedy Nights With Kapil' getting jiggy with some backdrop dancers (above) as part of the promotions of her film 'Gunday'.

The actress had a pink bandage (encircled) on her right knee which was clearly visible, but for some strange reason she kept tugging at her dress to hide it (below).

Perhaps if she had worn a longer dress, she would not have to be continously pulling it down. On Tuesday, the star had stated on the microblogging site, Twitter. `Busted knee and a busted mind!!! Hmmm!!.` It appears that PC has hurt her knee, but she can't do without her killer heels.

Buzz is that Katrina Kaif is not too happy with two of her films 'Bang Bang' and 'Phantom' releasing on the same date

Will Katrina Kaif mediate and resolve the clash of dates between two of her films that are releasing on the same date?

The actress's two films, Fox Star Studio's 'Bang Bang' and UTV and Sajid Nadiadwala' film 'Phantom' - starring Saif Ali Khan and directed by Kabir Khan - are slated for release on October 2. No prizes for guessing that the actress is not keen on seeing her movies take on each other. At an event held on Tuesday, the actress said that it is unlikely that the films will hit the screen on the same day. Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who is directing 'Phantom', said, "We are releasing our film on October 2. It is going to be a five day weekend, so there is enough space for the two films to co-exist."

Katrina Kaif's second film, 'Bang Bang', which went on the floors much before 'Phantom', is also slated to release on the same day. The third schedule of the film is currently underway in Shimla and the actress is going to join Hrithik Roshan in the coming week. It is being said that Fox Star Studio does not intend to shift the release date of its film either.

Now it remains to be seen if Katrina will step in and ask one of her producers to push the release date of one of her films.

Lovebirds Caught Coochie Cooing! Ranveer thrashed lensman

Ranveer Singh allegedly beat up a lensman at Ahana Deol's party If sources are to be believed, Ahana Deol's wedding after-party witnessed more than its share of action on Sunday night. A source says that when a photographer captured an intimate moment between lovebirds Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, the latter lost his cool.

`Both Deepika and Ranveer were in high spirits and were walking about with their hands clasped together. A photographer then clicked photographs of the two of them and this upset Ranveer,` says the source.

Those present at the party say that the actor trailed Deepika wherever she went. The source adds, `They were enjoying each other's company but as soon as Ranveer saw the photographer click their pictures, he chased after him and manhandled him. He then took his camera and deleted the pictures before returning the camera to him. Soon after, the couple left the party.`

The actor's spokesperson denies that Ranveer manhandled the photographer. The spokesperson says, `At the aforementioned private function, the person in question was surreptitiously clicking pictures of Ranveer from behind the DJ console without his consent. After letting this pass for a considerably long time, Ranveer started feeling uncomfortable because of this man's persistent and unwarranted intrusion. He then went up to the man and requested him to delete the pictures. At no point did he assault the person, that is a flagrant exaggeration of the incident.`
